One of Rhode Islands hidden treasures is its vineyards. When thinking of wine, Napa valley, France or Italy usually come to mind but very seldom is Rhode Island associated with winemaking. Maybe it should be since its home to five award winning wineries. Being surrounded by the ocean is conducive to growing wine - making grapes. Many of the vineyards are located in the southern part of the state, closest to the sea. All of Rhode Island's vineyards are open to the public and offer guided tours and wine tasting. Most of them can accommodate special events both private and corporate.
